Can Give You Local Channels Too
Sometimes it can
be hard to change over to something new from a service you've been
used to having. A familiar remote control can be comforting; having
to get used to a new one can be enough to prevent some people from
switching from cable to satalite dishes. One of the biggest concerns
with satalite dishes has been the worry of not being able to access
local channels.
Of course, the
satalite dish companies are well aware of this concern, and have devoted
a lot of resources toward handling this. The Federal Government has
recently made some rulings that have made it much more likely that
you will be able to get local channels through satalite dishes. If
you check with your installer, you can find out if local channels
will come in directly through dish satalites in your area.
If they do not,
there is still a simple solution: Any company that installs satalite
dishes wil install TV antennas on homes that would like local channels.
Then you could simply access local channels with the push of a button
on your remote control. And the antenna doesn't need to be big and
ugly. There are more modern and unobtrusive ways to put a TV antenna
on your home.
So don't shy away
from getting satalite dishes because of your concerns about getting
local channels - satalite dishes have come a long way, and they're
cheap!
