Sattelite television
has emerged strongly in recent years. Cable TV had gotten a pretty
good foothold, but the significant move to sattelite television by
many consumers makes it pretty obvious that the cable companies have
something to worry about. The sattelite TV companies are offering
free equipment with a year's contract. Then they have more channels
and extras available than cable, and to top it off it's cheaper than
cable.
The fact that
satalite television can be delivered without having to run wires on
the streets makes satalite TV sound better also. Who likes ugly wires
running all over the place in their neighborhood? The satalite dishes
sold by DirecTV and Dish Network nowadays are quite small and unobtrusive
- they even have a modern look about them.
It wouldn't be
surprising if they soon don't even bother with running cable in newer
housing developments. Satalite technology is clearly the wave of the
future. Soon phone lines may be unneccesary too, with the advances
in cell phone quality - and you cell phone companies better watch
out for satalite phones!
